This week, Quinlan outlined all the electronics needed for the first iteration of the dual syringe. The parts where ordered through UN&UP, including 2 stepper motors, drivers, and and arduino uno. This will be constructed with a basic control library next week. Bert designed and printed the syringe Y connector, which will be tested with food coloring to prove mixing at the joint. Zane investigated how to make an electromagnet and ordered the parts necessary. Next week, we will meet at UN&UP and will hope to construct and initial prototype so we can begin proof of concept testing. We plan to do separate testing initially for A) proof of concept that the dual syringe pumps allow for mixing due to turbulence and B) an electromagnet on a separate syringe to prove suspension of MNPs in a solenoid.
