Week 8 Report

ahlfingerz

During Week 8, the group discussed how we should proceed with the progress report due on December 3rd. Going through the sections required, the team temporarily split up the responsibilities and who should look into which part of the report. With our prior understanding of infusion pumps and magnets, the group decided to brainstorm ideas for the preliminary solution as we consider other options for the design as well. Quinlan and Zane are responsible for looking into the physics aspect of the design to understand how the group should keep the magnetic nanoparticles using magnets. Bert is responsible for looking into the various types of pumps and noting what parts of each pump may be beneficial to the team's design. These ideas and research on the magnets and current pumps available will eventually help fill the Pugh chart. Once different ideas and options are listed in the chart, the team will come together and rate the different characteristics of the solutions to decide what will be used for the actual design of the MNP infusion delivery device. Other parts of the progress report such as design alternatives and updated design specifications will be completed as the group decides on the ideal design with feedback from Mike and other members of UN&UP. For a rough timeline, the team has decided to have brainstorming done by next Thursday (10/28) before proceeding on delegating to more specific assignments for each member to complete for the progress report.
